LYNCH CANYON, part of the Solano Land Trust, has a trailhead about 3 miles from here.  At present it is only open on weekends in dry weather, but check the current status before you go.  There are many miles of hilly trials to ride or hike through cattle grazing land over with views of American Canyon and the Solano hills.  To reach the trailhead, take American Canyon Road over the freeway towards Hiddenbrooke but turn left onto the frontage road between the freeway on ramp and Hiddenbrooke.  After about 2 miles go left under the freeway to the trailhead.  There are signs and no where else to go down that road.  Car or rig with trailer is $5 at present for parking.

POINT PINOLE REGIONAL PARK on the shore of Suisun Bay, where you can ride and drive over well drained dirt roads with views of historical remnants and the Bay.  Take Richmond Parkway off I-80 and exit on Giant Hwy, following the signs to the park entrance and parking lot.

 Exiting driveway, turn right and then go WEST on Interstate 80 one exit, go WEST on Hwy 37

 Go past Lakeville Hwy and Sears Point, then be ready for the Atherton Ave exit

Take Atherton Avenue, continue over Interstate 101 through Novato (road now San Marin Drive)

Continue past mall, houses, etc. and school;  about 3 miles from the freeway,

turn RIGHT on Novato Avenue (at Morningstar Farms)

Go 6 miles, turn LEFT on Pt. Reyes/Petaluma Road

Go past Nicasio Reservoir and the road forks.  You can go RIGHT to Point Reyes Station.

We like to go LEFT onto Platform Bridge Road, go 2 miles to end;

Turn RIGHT on Sir Francis Drake Blvd, go 2 miles to Olema and RIGHT at the T.

Continue a few hundred feet to main Park entrance, Bear Valley Ranger Station HQ, etc.  Weekdays you can ride down the main road to the coast.  Weekends and holidays that road is closed to horses, but other trails are available.

 OR go LEFT at the T and continue a few miles to the STEWART RANCH trailhead.

Members can trail ride at the Novato Horsemen Association.  See
